3. Create Analysis Types

4. Create Analyses

The user then has to place the points on correct locations and calibrate the image. For the purpose of easier tracking each point that is moved changes color. Finally when the analysis is saved a new document appears in the document manager along with all the predefined reports for the chosen analysis.

Document family section contains reports that are attached to each document. By selecting a document with the left mouse click, Document Family section is

populated with reports that belong to the selected document.

5. Create analysis superimpositions

Create superimposition of two or more analyses based on linked elements (Point-Point, Point-Plane, Point-Rotation) or do a freehand manual superimposition.

Also structural superimposition according to ABO, EBO or Björk are easy to do. It is possible to define multiple different links of two or more analyses. This way superimpositions can be evaluated using different superimposition methods (i.e Sella-Nasion, Anterior Nasal Spine-Nasal Line etc.) within one superimposition document. Each link has an option for whether it uses calibration or not. Finally when superimposition is saved defined reports are automatically generated and saved to the patients record. Reports can be manually createed and then saved to the patient's record or Printed, Exported, Sent to clipboard or sent them by eMail.

  • Add any number of analyses into the superimposition
  • Add any number of images (lateral photography) into the superimposition
  • Automatic superimposition according to predefined rules from Analysis type

6. VTO (from version 3.1)

Use any created analysis to perform VTO (regardless of used analysis type). VTO functionality will help to create one or more treatment predictions.

By simulating orthodontic or surgical treatment using any analysis type, a detailed treatment drawing can be created. Taking into account different degrees of tissue softnes and rigidity, excellent prediction results are obtained.

Features of VTO module:

  • Add and superimpose orthodontic photographies to the VTO
  • Move and rotate hard tissue parts to sumulate orthognatic and orthodontic treatment (interactive or by goal)
  • Add custom design elements (points, planes, arcs, silhouettes)
  • Measure distances between arbitrary elements
  • Soft tissue treatment prediction
  • See soft tissue changes in real time on the orthodontic photo
  • Manual positioning of soft tissue allows for a more accurate profile description

7. Orthodontic images management

Orthodontic photographies management consists of 3 logic parts that are interlinked. These are:

  1. Template Editor
  2. Layout Viewer
  3. Custom Layout

Template editor allows to create templates for image layouts on a canvas. The user creates a template using phantoms which represent different image types. A saved template is then used in layout viewer to view actual images from a selected stage in the layout predefined with a template. Layout templates can be used globally for every patient and on every stage of treatment.

Custom layouts are created in a similar way as layout templates, with the distinction that in custom layouts actual images are placed on the canvas, and not placeholders for image types like in layout templates. This way the user can create a special layout that contains images from different stages.

Template Editor

Template editor is a tool for creating templates for image layouts.

Features of Template editor:

  • When defining a layout template it is possible to define placement and size of the following placeholders: image, patient data, custom text boxes, logo. A template can hold multiple elements of each kind. For each image placeholder on a canvas an image type must be defined.  This is then used in layout viewer to display the correct image in the correct spot.
  • Arrange placeholders on the canvas in an organized manner with the following alignment tools:
  • Define different canvas sizes which correspond to print paper sizes (A3, A4, A5, B3, B4, B5), canvas orientation (portrait, landscape), margins of a document (normal, narrow, moderate) and alignment (to page, to margin) to be used when arraging placeholders.
  • See the icon for the template being created in real-time while creating the template.
  • Define font family and size for each of the text placeholders separately (patient data and custom text box) and also for description text that is located under each placeholder. Description texts can also be switched off using the "Show text" checkbox in the toolbar.

Layout Viewer

The purpose of layout viewer is to display orthodontic images in predefined layouts. Layout viewer is also a tool to assign image types to orthodontic images. 

Features of Layout Viewer

  • Select the stage of treatment and thus select the pool of orthodontic images.
  • Select  a layout from the list of available layouts and  view orthodontic images arranged on a canvas in a way that is defined in a layout template.
  • Assign types to images by dragging an image from the left side panel to a placeholder on a canvas
  • Switch between different image layouts by selecting the desired layout template from the list in the toolbar. When the user is viewing a layout he has the following options: Show on stage - shows the layout on the stage in Documents module. Copy to clipboard - copies the layout to clipboard in order to be used in other applications. The image that is put on clipboard is in the format defined by the canvas size and orientation with the resolution of 300dpi. Print - sends the layout to the printer driver. The document sent to the printer is in the format defined by the canvas size and orientation with the resolution of 300dpi.
  • The user cannot rearange the layout from within this module. In order to rearange image placement the user must do one of the following:  alter the layout template - this option affects the module globally (the change affects all patients and all stages), create a custom layout from the current layout - this creates a custom layout (with concrete images) out of a layout template. The user can then rearange the layout and the changes only affect this custom layout.
  • Create Custom layouts - creates a custom layout from the currently displayed layout.
  • Create Compare layouts- the user is presented with a form on which he can select which image types he wants to compare. Upon confirmation a custom layout is created. In this layout each row represents a selected image type and each column a stage of the treatment. For example: The user is working on a patient who has 3 stages: Initial, Intermediate and Final.The user the clicks compare and on the form he selects X-Ray lateral, and Full face photo with smile. A custom layout will be created where in the first row will be the X-ray lateral images from Inital, intermediate and Final stages and in the second row there will be the Full face photo with smile from Initial, Intermediate and Final stages.

Custom Layout

With this tool a user can create a layout for a specific patient and for a specific stage. These layouts can also be viewed in Layout viewer in the same way as global layout. The difference is that in this case actual images are placed on a canvas, instead of placeholders. Patient data boxes, custom text boxes and logos can be added in the same way as in Template editor.

All the organizing actions that are available in Template editor are also available in Custom Layout (align, fit, and distribute actions).

Orthodontic photographies management consists of 3 logic parts that are interlinked. These are:

  1. Template Editor
  2. Layout Viewer
  3. Custom Layout

Template editor allows to create templates for image layouts on a canvas. The user creates a template using phantoms which represent different image types. A saved template is then used in layout viewer to view actual images from a selected stage in the layout predefined with a template. Layout templates can be used globally for every patient and on every stage of treatment.

Custom layouts are created in a similar way as layout templates, with the distinction that in custom layouts actual images are placed on the canvas, and not placeholders for image types like in layout templates. This way the user can create a special layout that contains images from different stages.

Template Editor

Template editor is a tool for creating templates for image layouts.

Features of Template editor:

  • When defining a layout template it is possible to define placement and size of the following placeholders: image, patient data, custom text boxes, logo. A template can hold multiple elements of each kind. For each image placeholder on a canvas an image type must be defined.  This is then used in layout viewer to display the correct image in the correct spot.
  • Arrange placeholders on the canvas in an organized manner with the following alignment tools:
  • Define different canvas sizes which correspond to print paper sizes (A3, A4, A5, B3, B4, B5), canvas orientation (portrait, landscape), margins of a document (normal, narrow, moderate) and alignment (to page, to margin) to be used when arraging placeholders.
  • See the icon for the template being created in real-time while creating the template.
  • Define font family and size for each of the text placeholders separately (patient data and custom text box) and also for description text that is located under each placeholder. Description texts can also be switched off using the "Show text" checkbox in the toolbar.

Layout Viewer

The purpose of layout viewer is to display orthodontic images in predefined layouts. Layout viewer is also a tool to assign image types to orthodontic images. 

Features of Layout Viewer

  • Select the stage of treatment and thus select the pool of orthodontic images.
  • Select  a layout from the list of available layouts and  view orthodontic images arranged on a canvas in a way that is defined in a layout template.
  • Assign types to images by dragging an image from the left side panel to a placeholder on a canvas
  • Switch between different image layouts by selecting the desired layout template from the list in the toolbar. When the user is viewing a layout he has the following options: Show on stage - shows the layout on the stage in Documents module. Copy to clipboard - copies the layout to clipboard in order to be used in other applications. The image that is put on clipboard is in the format defined by the canvas size and orientation with the resolution of 300dpi. Print - sends the layout to the printer driver. The document sent to the printer is in the format defined by the canvas size and orientation with the resolution of 300dpi.
  • The user cannot rearange the layout from within this module. In order to rearange image placement the user must do one of the following:  alter the layout template - this option affects the module globally (the change affects all patients and all stages), create a custom layout from the current layout - this creates a custom layout (with concrete images) out of a layout template. The user can then rearange the layout and the changes only affect this custom layout.
  • Create Custom layouts - creates a custom layout from the currently displayed layout.
  • Create Compare layouts- the user is presented with a form on which he can select which image types he wants to compare. Upon confirmation a custom layout is created. In this layout each row represents a selected image type and each column a stage of the treatment. For example: The user is working on a patient who has 3 stages: Initial, Intermediate and Final.The user the clicks compare and on the form he selects X-Ray lateral, and Full face photo with smile. A custom layout will be created where in the first row will be the X-ray lateral images from Inital, intermediate and Final stages and in the second row there will be the Full face photo with smile from Initial, Intermediate and Final stages.

Custom Layout

With this tool a user can create a layout for a specific patient and for a specific stage. These layouts can also be viewed in Layout viewer in the same way as global layout. The difference is that in this case actual images are placed on a canvas, instead of placeholders. Patient data boxes, custom text boxes and logos can be added in the same way as in Template editor.

All the organizing actions that are available in Template editor are also available in Custom Layout (align, fit, and distribute actions).
